Editing

I am a giant word nerd and there are few things I love as much as editing. In many ways, editing is like solving a mystery. You need to analyze the scene to pick up on the small things that are out of place, but also look at the big picture to see what doesn't make sense. I enjoy that challenge and strive to ensure the materials I edit are the best that they can be.

Technical Editing

Technical editing is most useful in the business world when you already have a solid team of writers but need help polishing the final product. That’s where I come in! I can help with reviewing projects for:

  • Style, formatting, and flow

  • Grammar and spelling

  • Consistency, clarity, and conciseness

  • Accuracy of data/facts

  • Alignment to stated requirements and goals

Creative Editing

Wait? What’s creative editing? Well, it includes all of the stuff under Technical Editing but with an additional creative flair. Think books, plays, and screenplays. I can help with editing basics and add feedback on:

  • Plot and character development

  • Pacing

  • Structure

  • Voice and point of view

  • Action/direction (for screenplays/plays)

Fee Structure

I generally follow the Editorial Freelancers Association for editing rates. However, I realize every project is unique, and I am happy to talk about what will work within your budget.

Let's explore how we can work together. Reach out today!

Editing Samples

I am the primary editor for Lark & Lore Press, including their debut romantasy release:
A Throne in Bloom by J.K. Ross

Additional editing samples are available upon request. The majority of my editing projects are proprietary and cannot be shared publicly.

She challenged the wild ideas, pushed the messy ones into something sharper, and never once let me get away with chaos just for chaos’ sake. She made the story stronger, deeper, and more intentional.
